‘Khes` is a floor spread and bed covering traditionally handwoven. Khes evolved centuries ago, during the Mughal period, to meet the demand of a cotton blanket for spring & Pre-winters. For generations women residing in the villages of Punjab have woven Khes as a part of their wedding trousseau, to take to their future homes as part of their “Dowry”. With bold, harmonic, geometric and imaginative color pattern; it is a requisite as a coverlet while resting. This particular piece is an antique from Sind/Punjab from the 19th century. It has a double weave pattern done by hand on a wooden loom with traditional motifs. It remains cool in summer and warm in winters. These are reversible throws with different color and designs. This collection of vintage antique Khes is a celebration of the rich and diverse heritage of the Punjab region. It is opulent and here to bring a new element to your spaces and remains a rare find. Weaving technique- " The spinning wheel with gold nuts, Spin colors in my life, But Whenever I see it’ It reminds me of you and makes me cry" Women during the evening time used to sit together and spin while singing songs. Khes weaving is originally a household craft exclusively done by women. A girl is taught to weave by an elder woman. A girl is taught to weave by an elder woman so that she can carry forth the traditional practice. It is a thick cotton double cloth made on a handloom.

 Uses- The piece can be used as throws for your sofa, bed, or couch; a perfect addition to any space. These can also be used as blankets and bedcovering. Moreover, Khes can be used as textiles for making robes, skirts, bags, cushion covers, and much more.

 **These Khes are in very good condition and come with no marks and blemishes. They have a gradient color scheme with a rustic look. There can be very slight weaving defects though that will not hamper the look of the product.
